     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upUVf嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. PowerUVf嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanUVf嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034UVf嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageUVf嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atUVf嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andUVf嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.UVf嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectUVf嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.UVf嘉泰姆

1)General DescriptionUVf嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.UVf嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highUVf嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aUVf嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theUVf嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthUVf嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canUVf嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theUVf嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.UVf嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation UVf嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakUVf嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aUVf嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachUVf嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andUVf嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumUVf嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorUVf嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theUVf嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlUVf嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichUVf嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theUVf嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.UVf嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification UVf嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toUVf嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forUVf嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isUVf嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theUVf嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. TheUVf嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSUVf嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesUVf嘉泰姆
