Internal Regulator HJg嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 is a current mode step down DC/DC converter that provides excellentHJg嘉泰姆
transient response with no extra external compensation components. This device containsHJg嘉泰姆
an internal, low resistance, high voltage power MOSFET, and operates at a high 600KHJg嘉泰姆
operating frequency to ensure a compact, high efficiency design with excellent AC and DCHJg嘉泰姆
performance.HJg嘉泰姆

Error AmplifierHJg嘉泰姆
The error amplifier compares the FB pin voltage with the internal FB reference (VFB) andHJg嘉泰姆
outputs a current proportional to the difference between the two. This output current is thenHJg嘉泰姆
used to charge or discharge the internal compensation network to form the COMP voltage,HJg嘉泰姆
which is used to control the power MOSFET current. The optimized internal compensationHJg嘉泰姆
network minimizes the external component counts and simplifies the control loop design. HJg嘉泰姆
Internal Soft-StartHJg嘉泰姆
The soft-start is implemented to prevent the converter output voltage from overshootingHJg嘉泰姆
during startup. When the chip starts, the internal circuitry generates a soft-start voltage (SS)HJg嘉泰姆
ramping up from 0V to 0.6V. When it is lower than the internal reference (REF), SSHJg嘉泰姆
overrides REF so the error amplifier uses SS as the reference. When SS is higher thanHJg嘉泰姆
REF, REF regains control. The SS time is internally fixed to 1 ms.HJg嘉泰姆
Over-Current-Protection and HiccupHJg嘉泰姆
The CXSD61054 has cycle-by-cycle over current limit when the inductor current peak valueHJg嘉泰姆
exceeds the set current limit threshold. Meanwhile, output voltage starts to drop until FB isHJg嘉泰姆
below the Under-Voltage (UV) threshold, typically 30% below the reference. Once a UV isHJg嘉泰姆
triggered, the CXSD61054 enters hiccup mode to periodically restart the part. ThisHJg嘉泰姆
protection mode is especially useful when the output is dead-short to ground. The averageHJg嘉泰姆
short circuit current is greatly reduced to alleviate the thermal issue and to protect theHJg嘉泰姆
regulator. The CXSD61054 exits the hiccup mode once the over current condition isHJg嘉泰姆
removed. HJg嘉泰姆
Startup and Shutdown HJg嘉泰姆
If both VIN and EN are higher than their appropriate thresholds, the chip starts. TheHJg嘉泰姆
reference block starts first, generating stable reference voltage and currents, and then theHJg嘉泰姆
internal regulator is enabled. The regulator provides stable supply for the remainingHJg嘉泰姆
